More about the tour The scenery is spectacular from start to finish as you appear out from under the cliffs of Mirador del Rio. Crossing the strait of Rio we disembark at the fishing village harbour of Caleta de Sebo. You are now in a different world. Hardly any vehicles, a population of around 700 people and the roads are of unpaved sand. 37km of off-road bliss awaits. After traversing much of the northern part of the island, we stop at Playa Las Conchas to eat a packed lunch (optional). You will feel like Robinson Crusoe as you take to the sands of one of the most beautiful beaches on earth! Just off the coast you will see the island of Montana Clara which many have likened to Ayers Rock in Australia. The route continues along the coastline all the way south to Bocas de Pardela. One can see all the way along the northern coastline of Lanzarote on a clear day. We make our way back through the centre of the island for complimentary coffee and tapas. Afterwards we make our way over to the sandy beaches of the Rio Strait. You can enjoy the sun or indeed jump in for a dip as most participants do. Either way, it’s a very therapeutic moment before we return for the trip home. The return journey is equally spectacular as the boats tend to travel closer to the cliffs on the return leg. This is an experience that will live long in the memory.
